Salisbury’s friendly cancelled as Shaftesbury withdraw

Salisbury’s planned friendly match against Shaftesbury FC this afternoon has been cancelled.

The game was to be played this afternoon at 3 p.m. at Shaftesbury FC’s Cockram ground. It would have given Brian Dutton’s side a chance to play on an artificial surface as they prepare for the season opener against Hemel Hempstead on August 10th, who also play on a synthetic pitch.

However, just over 24 hours before kick-off, Salisbury were informed of the cancellation due to Shaftesbury sustaining a number of injuries in their previous friendly and their last training session.

Salisbury’s next scheduled fixture is against Woking at the Ray Mac on Saturday, July 27th. It will be followed on Tuesday evening when Winchester City also visit the Ray Mac.
