Two casualties have been airlifted to hospital after a major crash on the A30.
Emergency services responded to reports of a serious road traffic collision around 3pm this afternoon.
The incident close to Figsbury Ring occured near Firsdown.
Both the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance were deployed to the scene.
According to Wiltshire999s, ‘Medics treated at least two casualties. One was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, the other was flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol’.
The road is expected to remain closed between the A338 and Firsdown for the foreseeable future as emergency crews deal with the incident.
