Air Ambulance raffle closes, as airbase ‘opens its doors’

It’s the final 24 hours to buy tickets for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance summer raffle.

The fundraising raffle closes tomorrow, with the cash prize draw being made next Friday.

The £1 per ticket raffle is offering a top prize of £3,000, with runners up prizes of £500, £100 and five £25 prizes.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which is hosting their first ever summer event next weekend, costs £4.5m a year to run.

Their ‘Summer at the Base’ event being held at their Trowbridge home is another way to raise money for the charity which celebrates its 25th birthday next year.

The charity will open up its lawn to families on Friday August 9th, with live music, circus skills and stalls from local traders.

Visitors may even get to see the yellow and green Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter taking off.

Adam Baker from Wiltshire Air Ambulance says, “Bring the whole family to our very first Summer at the Base event, which will take place on the front lawn of our operational airbase.

“You will have prime view of our helipad, and helicopter (subject to operations) as our crew attend lifesaving missions.

“From midday until 4pm we will have something for everyone, from activities for children to a wide range of local traders and food options.

“Spend some time at our circus skills area. Come and learn how to juggle and plate spin. Have fun with diablos and devil sticks. Fun for all ages. All you need is willpower and a smile on your face.”

The event comes after the lifesaving organisation confirmed a 25% increase in missions in the first half of this year.

The charity has confirmed people will be able to pay for entry on the day, or buy tickets in advance through their website.
