Nail bar remains open after break-in

Owners are reminding customers that the Five Star Nails shop in Maltings remains open after a break-in in the early hours of this morning.

The nail bar on Riverside Walk in the Maltings, was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday 23rd July 2024.

A tall 6-foot window was smashed by a man caught on CCTV cameras at around 1.30am.  The suspect was then seen escaping along Bridge Street shortly afterwards.

It was reported by the Salisbury Journal that the man ‘threw a large brick through the window and searched around the shop before attempting to batter his way through the rear exit to no avail’.

Police arrived around 11.30am to carry out forensic enquiries.

The smashed window was quickly boarded-up; it is understood that the repairs will cost owners Emily and Tommy Ho ‘hundreds of pounds’ to replace.

It is assumed that the intruder was expecting to find cash on the premises.

Following the repairs and clean-up, today the shop was open to customers.
