Join a face to face session or go online and share your thoughts on family help services

Families and young people are invited to share how they prefer to access family help services by completing an online survey or dropping into face to face meetings in their local area.

Wiltshire Council is asking for views on the best way to access help and advice such as parenting support, early language, early health improvement, parental relationship support and financial advice.

The short online survey Family Help Jan 23 (wiltshire.gov.uk) is available until 2 April. It asks people a number of questions including if they prefer to meet in buildings or access support online. The feedback will help understand residents’ preferences and inform future delivery of services to ensure it fits with how families and young people work now. So far more than 500 people have responded to the online survey.

A series of face-to-face meetings are also being held across Wiltshire so families and young people can share their views and talk about how they want to access support and services.

Feedback from the survey and face to face sessions will inform the wider review of family help across the county for children aged 0-19 and up to 25 years for young adults with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We’ve had a good response to the online survey and I’d like to thank those who have already completed it.

“We do have a number of face to face sessions over the coming weeks and I’d encourage those who would like to drop in, talk to Wiltshire Council staff and share their views to attend one of these sessions. Both online and face to face will help us capture as many views as possible so we get a wider understanding of how people prefer to access services and support into the future.”
